Selection to the 2017-2018 DA groups will be based on performance, attitude and respect demonstrated during an ID camp. During the ID Camp, players will be observed and evaluated using the TIPS model. TIPS stands for technique, insight, personality and speed. These are the four main areas necessary in the game of soccer. Please note that if one of these qualities needs further development or is missing, it is very difficult for a player to play quickly and be effective:

Technique - Players must be in control of the ball. This includes dribbling, passing, beating an opponent, shooting, speed of action, attacking headers, scoring ability, and crosses. It also involves players’ motor skills.

Insight – Players must have the ability to “read” the game, think ahead, and make the correct decisions.

Personality – Players must be able to communicate with others, provide leadership, be creative, be receptive to his fellow players, and be able to work in a disciplined manner. It is important that players are able to adapt socially and mentally in a variety of situations.

Speed – Players must demonstrate both "speed on the ground” and “speed of reaction." Stamina is also important.

Players will be given an offer or dismissal letter based on what is demonstrated during the camp. If the athlete needs to be further evaluated, he will be invited to train with our current U12 DA group during the weeknight for one week. Once the player receives an offer letter, the parents will have five days to accept or decline the offer.
